Replacing worn boat-name vinyl: a preparation checklist
Assess old adhesive, surface condition and the usable name panel before requesting replacement boat lettering.
Custom vinyl boat lettering is personalized, die-cut marine vinyl used to display a boat name, hailing port, or decorative graphics. The best lettering is cut from Oracal 651 marine-grade vinyl, which lasts 5-7 years.
Inspect before repeating an old design
A replacement project starts with the surface that will receive the new vinyl. Check for old adhesive, faded paint and changes to nearby fittings before copying the previous dimensions. Photograph the full panel and make a note of repairs or coatings that need material advice. Keep your preferred name spelling and punctuation with those measurements.
A digital proof shows the proposed layout; it cannot establish that an aged coating is ready for adhesive. Confirm preparation and compatibility before production.
