South-shore launches and marinas
At South Lake Tahoe and Stateline, a curved runabout bow or two-tone wrap may leave little uniform space for a registration sequence. Inspect where your hardware and fenders sit before placing the vinyl.
North & South Shore • California & Nevada
Custom boat registration-number vinyl for vessels used around Lake Tahoe's California and Nevada shores. Design the number actually assigned to your boat, check legibility and hull fit, and order an easy-to-apply set online.
Lake Tahoe stretches across two states, with boating communities around South Lake Tahoe, Tahoe City, Incline Village and Stateline. The lake where you launch does not automatically determine the number prefix you should display.
Custom vinyl letters shipped to customers. We do not have a local Lake Tahoe storefront and cannot issue government registration materials.

Tahoe City boats range from sailboats to small lake cruisers. Measure the actual bow section on both sides rather than assuming a standard decal kit will fit its slope and fittings.
Incline Village boaters should choose a color that stays visibly distinct from glossy paint, accent stripes or wraps across the entire number, not just the first two characters.
The boat's registration documents—not a slip rental, boat launch, marina address or weekend location—tell you which assigned number to enter. If you are registered in California, check California DMV's current registration and display requirements; if Nevada issued your registration, check Nevada Department of Wildlife. Visitors from other states should verify their own documentation and applicable display requirements instead of switching to a California or Nevada prefix in the designer.
Our vinyl letter sets are separate from the official certificate or validation decals, which come from the responsible agency. Decorative Tahoe boat-name lettering is also a different product from mandatory registration numbers.
South-shore trailered boats and seasonal launches: check curved fiberglass surfaces and storage-related preparation.
South Lake Tahoe decals →West-shore and northwestern Lake Tahoe: test whole-sequence width on boats with narrow foredecks or rub rails.
Tahoe City decals →Northern Nevada shore: check bright sunlight, high-gloss finishes and wrap contrast before choosing a decal color.
Incline Village decals →South-shore border community: avoid selecting the number prefix solely from where the boat is moored.
Stateline decals →01 • document
Read every character and the prefix from current registration documents. Do not change it based on the lake shore.
02 • fit
Confirm the correct display location, total sequence length, visibility, character height and separate official decal space.

After seasonal storage, clean away old adhesive and let the hull become dry and suitably warm for installation.
No. California and Nevada issue those prefixes for their own registrations, but a boat visiting Lake Tahoe may have an assigned number from another jurisdiction. Use the number actually assigned to the vessel and verify applicable rules.
Yes. You can order new vinyl lettering for an existing assigned number. That does not renew registration, replace an official validation sticker or change ownership records.
Remove old adhesive, clean and dry the hull, check for oxidation and confirm the vinyl manufacturer's application temperature range. Cold, damp surfaces may reduce adhesion.
They can coordinate in color, but mandatory registration characters should remain in the plain, high-contrast style required by applicable display rules. Decorative boat names can use different letterforms.
